Is there a way to set time limits for my personal xbox account?

    Hi Hank *.

My name is Mauro and am glad to assist you.

Unfortunately only child accounts can have a screentime set options. Adult accounts don't have that option available.

    Thanks,
    Mauro

    Time limit on Xbox

Thank you for your reply! My son’s account is set up using the primary account with my information. I’m not seeing a way to transfer this. It would be much easier to set a time limit for the Xbox regardless of who is playing it. He is the only account and person that uses the Xbox. I hope that in the future Microsoft will rethink the process to make it easier.

How to make main account a child account moving forward

Sorry but there is no way to make an adult account as a child account. In this case the only way to limit screen time would be to either personally keep track of his online time or go into your modem and set screen limits for the device when you're not
around. You may need to contact your ISP for help with doing that.

You can set time limits by creating a child account for the person you are wanting to add these limits to. All you'll need to do is set up a
Family Account then add your child to that account.

If you need help with setting up Screen Time, you can find the step by step instructions here; Set up screen

Is there a way to set time limits for specific apps?

Hello, Loondogiv. Thanks for reaching out! My name is Lucas. I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user just like you. I'll be happy to assist you today.

    - Visit https://family.microsoft.com. Sign into your Family Safety account.

    - Find your family member’s name and click More options > Screen time.

    - Select Apps and games tab. Turn on App and game limits toggle.

    - Click the app or game you want to set limits on.

    - Set the amount of time your family member can spend on the app or game each day and when they’re allowed to use it. Use the same limits every day or tailor a schedule for each day of the week.
