Is there a way to load a local save file after syncing to an old cloud save?

No Man's Sky has stability issues on my PC; keeps crashing at entirely random moments. The game relies on manual saves by interacting with beacons or other objects to record progress, so it is very easy to lose upwards of 30 minutes of progress. Upon re-booting, I was prompted to either sync to a cloud save (newer) or use a local save (older). I foolishly chose to sync with a cloud save, but that un-did several hours of progress, as the save was NOT in fact more recent. Is there a way to undo this action and reload a local save to override a cloud save? I really want to enjoy NMS and Xbox PC in general, but they sure make it hard for me sometimes.

Sorry to say but if you selected "use local save" instead of cloud save. Your cloud save is overwritten after that :c
So, there is no way to undo this action.
You can try contacting No man's sky support to see if maybe something can be done from their side

If you saved over a file and it sync to the cloud. You game progress is lost. You can try running the Xbox Offline and see if your able to load the game from the local file.

If that doesnt work delete the local saved file like Parity said and maybe the cloud didnt catch or sync the saved game progress.

if you loaded an old cloud save by mistake then you are out of luck as that will have overwritten the local save and synced up, the new save will most likely be gone.

i lost my progress after sync console with cloud, so i think new game and new progress now at cloud. On my PC i have game with old progress, can i load progress from PC to cloud , not from cloud to pc. How to find local savings at PC ?

The local Forza Horizon 4 save games are located here:

C:\Users\*username*\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.SunriseBaseGame_8wekyb3d8bbwe\SystemAppData

There should be a wgs folder in there which is the save folder.

Not entirely sure how to get the local copy synced to the cloud without the cloud over-riding the local copy though...way beyond my ability to understand

This can sometimes be caused by the local save file. If you have cloud synced saves enabled, go ahead and delete the local save file then restart the download.
