    Is there a way to get more security for the original xbox console from 2001?


    I wanted to be able to play some original xbox games, but since they are not supported on the xbox 360 is there any way I could get security for it. I know where to buy the original xbox console, but I am worried about security. What can I do? Thank you in advance.

    We can't discuss third party Live replacements for Xbox Live on the original Xbox, you'll need to go elsewhere for assistance with this this. Even then, there is very little risk. If you're not connected to the internet, then the console would behave like any other old console not connected to the internet.

    Original Xbox consoles are at risk from the 'capacitor plague' of the early 00's. If a capacitor leaks it will damage the motherboard rendering it inoperable. Electrolytic capacitors can be removed/replaced with new ones. We can not discuss self repairs of Xbox hardware, even really old Xbox hardware. You would need to find a service or shop that fixes/refurbishes old consoles.

    The original Xbox consoles no longer connect to Xbox Live. There is need for any additional 'security'. as these consoles can not connect to the internet.

    I was looking at 3rd party xbox live replacements, but if I don't connect to the internet it will be secure right? Oh and also does the Kasumi chan blue or the halo 2 original Xboxes come with the revision 1.6 motherboard? I read online that the 1.0 - 1.5 revision motherboard's clock capacitor kept leaking and spoiling the motherboard.

    Since original Xbox Live and the original Xbox store are offline, there is no reason to connect it to the internet, and the likelyhood of any security issues is virtually nonexistent
