Is there a way to fix a game save that's damaged but isn't corrupted

Hi Jamie! Since the methods above didn't work, I suggest restoring the network setting on your Xbox 360.

To restore network settings to factory defaults.

Note: This will only reset the network settings. It won’t affect other console settings.

    a. Press the Guide button on your controller.
    b. Go to Settings and select System Settings.
    c. Select Network Settings.
    d. Choose your connected network.
    e. Select Test Xbox Live Connection.
    f. After the test has finished, select Configure Network.
    g. On the Additional Settings tab, select Restore to Factory Defaults.

If it doesn't work, try to re-install the game.

Is there a way to fix a game save that's damaged but isn't corrupted

Hi Jamie! My name is Darhlene and I’m here to assist you.

I'm very sorry to hear about your current situation. I understand your frustration but, don't worry, I will help you get this sorted out.

    Please try these methods:

    1. Clear your system cache.

Please be reminded that when you clear the Xbox 360 cache, you don’t remove the following:

    a. Your gamertag
    b. Content that you’ve downloaded
    c. Game files
    d. Console software updates

Clearing the cache does remove previously downloaded game updates. You must download these updates again the next time you play the game.

How to clear the system cache:

    a. Press the Guide button on your controller, go to Settings, and select System Settings.
    b. Select Storage.
    c. Highlight but don’t select a storage device, and then press the Y button  on your controller for Device Options.

Note: It doesn't matter which storage device you choose. This clears the cache for all storage devices.

    d. On the Device Options screen, select Clear System Cache.
    e. When prompted to confirm storage device maintenance, select Yes.

When you’ve successfully cleared the system cache, you’ll return to the Storage Devices screen. You can then press the Guide button on the controller and return to Xbox Home.

    2. Remove and re-add the Xbox profile.

Here’s how you can remove any Xbox profile from your Xbox 360 console:

    a. Go to Settings and select System.
    b. Select Storage.

Note: If you don’t connect any external storage devices to your console, select Hard Drive. If you do use external storage, select All Devices.

    c. Select Profiles.
    d. Select the Xbox profile that you want to delete.
    e. Select Delete.
    f. Select:

Delete Profile Only – This deletes the Xbox profile but leaves saved games and achievements.

Here’s how to add your Xbox profile to any Xbox 360 console:

    a. Press the Guide button on your controller.
    b. Select Download Profile.

Note: Not seeing Download Profile? This means that you’re signed in under another profile. Press the X button on your controller to sign out, confirm, and then select Download Profile.

    d. At the bottom of the Download Profile screen, select Download Profile.
    e. Enter the email address of the Microsoft account that’s associated with your Xbox profile. If you don’t know it, see the Lost Account Solution. Check this link:

    https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/account-profile/manage-account/forgot-microsoft-account-solution

    f. Enter your Microsoft account password. If you’ve forgotten it, you’ll need to reset your password. Check this link:

    https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/account-profile/manage-account/lost-password-solution

Note: If you have a child account, your parent’s Microsoft account information is required to download your Xbox profile on the Xbox 360.

    g. If you use external storage on your console, select the storage device on which you want to save your Xbox profile. If you don’t use external storage, your Xbox profile will begin downloading.

    h. After you download your Xbox profile, you’ll be asked if you want the console to remember your password.

If you want to sign in without being prompted for a password each time, select the Remember Password option. Keep in mind that when you choose this option, anyone who uses your console can sign in as you and use your account information. This includes any credit card information you might have saved.

Leave the Remember Password option unchecked if you want the console to require a password to sign in to your account. This is a good idea if others in your home can easily access your console, or if you downloaded your Xbox profile at a friend’s house.

Important: If you downloaded your Xbox profile to another console and you chose the Remember Password option, you can remotely remove the password so that your Xbox profile can’t be accessed by someone on the other console.

    My game was deleted

    Hi fellow gamer,

Thanks for reaching out to the forums. We understand having issue with the save. If the game is definitive or original it will use the same save data. If it isn't reading it, this is most likely due to it being corrupt. If this is the case, then there is
no way to recover corrupt save data.

    Thanks,

    Brad

    Save file is corrupt

Is it corrupt or unreadable? Because there is a difference...

Unreadable: Your disc or Xbox isnt functioning properly. Try diffrent games, if they are too unreadable your xbox is flawed. If those other games work fine, your Skyrim disc is damaged. Nonetheless, once you find out get xbox/game restored and cleaned.

Corrupt: This damage is irrevocable and
CAN NOT BE FIXED. So before you decide to get rid of your game save, make sure that the file is indeed corrupt.
