Is there a way to completely mute background noise from my mic? Noise suppression doesnt work.

Unfortunately, there is no guaranteed way to completely silence background noise from your microphone. Noise suppression is a useful feature, but it's not perfect. In some cases, it may not be effective enough to remove all background noise.

And each suppression function depends on the quality of your microphone.

Also, I agree with Jasper^, if you're playing music, talking to someone else in the background, or just making any annoying noise at all in your mic, it's an instant mute.

Many players find background noise distracting and feel it disrupts the gaming experience. If your headset or Kinect microphone regularly picks up background noise (such as music, fans or air conditioning units, barking dogs, background conversations, etc.)
other players may not have a positive reaction. To ensure other players have a pleasant experience, consider finding ways to reduce background noise or mute your microphone when not talking.

When mw3 first came out I used my mic every match I played. Eventually it's gets old hearing garbled speech, background noise, racist comments, screaming matches, etc. Why bother putting on your mic when you end up muting everyone in the lobby that has a
mic on?

All who complains about the hissing noise every headset does that as in the regular wired mic just not as loud. Secondly the beeping noise when u put it on mute is to remind u that u have it on mute like any other Xbox wireless mic @_@
