Is there a way to change an Alias on Xbox without deleting the old one permanently?

Hello RoaEldinn, yes, you can add a new Alias to your Microsoft/Xbox account, make it the main one and keep the old one in the account.

You can change the alias, and have the Xbox profile into a new email, but once you delete your dad alias that email won't work anymore, there's no way to link that one to a different account

Thank you for reaching out to us on the forums, when you update the primary email address (alias) to a Microsoft account you are simply replacing the old one. Unfortunately there is no way to actually move the Xbox profile to a new Microsoft account.

Just be aware that replacing the alias will delete the old one and replace it with the new one, in other words if replaced it will delete your dads alias and replace it with the new one.

Yes, you can change your email address without any trouble. And to protect the old email, do not delete it from the account.

And this is the only way when it comes to add a new email/alias to an account.

Once you have added the new email/ alias and set it as the primary email you will be using that email when signing into your account.

Therefore, your email will change but everything on the account remains. All of your games, subscriptions and apps will be on the account.
