Are you pertaining to your Gamertag? If yes, then yes, as long as it is still available.

If it's no longer available you can still use it but there will be a suffix.

If the current save on the cloud is of the latest restart, then you have overwritten the old save with the previous progress. There is no way to recover the previous progress in that case.

I'm sorry, I didn't seem to be clear enough.

When linking my steam account named to my xbox previously named RGCEclipse it seemed to create a ghost account named , which belongs to me but I have no access to. Upon attempting to change my xbox name from RGCEclipse to , what I previously thought was just steam changing my display, I discovered the ghost account.

I don't know how to claim or recover the account named , but it is mine. I've now lost my IGN with no way to recover it, and RGCEclipse which was renamed now has numbers in it. Something I, obviously, do not want.
