    Is there a reason the Xbox One Wireless Controller takes so long to turn off?


    Why is it necessary to hold the power button for 5 seconds for the controller to turn off? I get that I could just rip the battery out of it to turn it off faster but, then that can cause issues with the Bluetooth adapter. It really is so frustrating that
    I have to sit here for 5 seconds waiting for it to shut off.

    Is there a setting? I'm on Windows 10, or is this just by design and if so, what's the reasoning behind it?

    The xbox is always turned off when not being used and her controller is wireless. We just woke up one day and tried turning on by console and it wouldnt work so now we control it by the game controller

    Want to connect a wireless controller, already have four registered

    Just had a chat with an Xbox ambassador. The limit of four is four active wireless controllers, so it is possible to connect number five as long as they are not all four turned on.

    He suggested that the Wireless gear I try to connect (Fanatec Wheel) had to be controller one, and he/she was right.

    After i shut down the controller that was turned on i was able to connect the Wheel.

    No, the only external connection is for wireless headset but I have unplugged and issues continue. I had so many issues with it turning off last night that I just unplugged it. I've turned on hours later and have it on idle so I can check to see how long it takes before turning off l.
