Is there a chance of getting a new Elite V2 Controller w/o Stick Drift?

I'm earnest about that question, there is no hyperbole. Do all new controllers now have stick drift from the start?

As a PC gamer I'm trying to get into playing CoD on controller. I busted out my 5+y old Switch Pro controller. It's been heavily abused by Mario Kart and Smash. It literally measures at 0,00004x drift on both sticks. It also always re-centers on those values of practically no drift at all.

Then I learned how useful back buttons are and ordered a new Razer Wolverine. It featured drift to the extend of -0.12 on the left stick which is like walking regularly in CoD. Entirely unusable, I sent it back immediately.

Fast-forward to my brand-new Elite v2 controller. Took it out the box, updated the firmware via the xbox accessories app and went straight to https://gamepad-tester.com/ for testing. To my great dismay, this brand new 170€ stick has heavy stick drift. It's also worse in a way, as both stick are not re-centering on the same value each time I engage them. Their 0 position is all over the place, causing different drifts in different directions all the time.

I'd be truly grateful if anyone could answer me this questions:

Is there a way of getting a new Elite V2 w/o drift?

I really like the feel of the controller. If there are reports of new controllers arriving A-OK, I'm willing to go through the whole replacement chore. I doubt it though, to me, it feels like if controllers just are that way now.

thank you for the heads-up. I am aware of the warranty and my ability to return it.

I'd appreciate a no nonsense answer regarding my actual question - are there Elite V2 sticks out there with a clean 0 center and no drift?

I believe so, Chris. It is known that this affects a number of controllers and to ensure a better experience for customers Microsoft has increased the warranty period for this controller from 90 days to 1 year.

Elite 2 controllers are warranted for 1 year, so you can order a replacement.

Mine lasted about two years and I've started to get stick drift but I cleaned the stick last night with some isopropyl alcohol but haven't had a chance to test if that fixed it. My right grip started coming apart about 6 months ago and the left one started
a few days ago. If the stick drift is fixed I'll buy some replacement grips. Other than that I'm holding out for the Elite V2.

my 1st elite: crash gumi grips. send back to service, but i buy a new one for this 2 week. Try this new: right stick drift to right...

ok, my 1st elite came back, try this. left stick drift to right (fresh new controller from ms service)

ok i sent back this 2 broken Elites.

1-2 week done, get 2 new fresh Elites... tested... both new Elite's (my 3rd and 4th) left sticks drift to right...

my last 5 Elites broken, 3 fresh from Xbox Support. Thats a big joke.
