    Is the Xbox Wireless Headset Junk? Yes, confirmed.


    Purchased the Xbox Wireless headset in May. Today, roughly 5 months later, the boom mic fell apart. Cheap plastic, poor manufacturing. Apparently a known issue. I wasn’t even adjusting the mic, it just fell off. Never dropped, always careful with it. Out of warranty, since it’s only 90 days for this piece of junk. Customer service told me to have a nice day. This is the third “premium” headset I’ve had fail like this, I’m over it. Do not recommend.

    Wireless headset remove clutter from the control. They're not junk. Just cause you can't take you headset to the toilet with you don't make it junk. They're only meant to be at certain range to avoid micro-wave interference.

    I've had a wireless mic for a few years and have had no problems. Then again I haven't been using it since I got my Astro's.

    Omg. I hate people that use the Kinect as their headset. It sounds completely awful when you are the one actually listening to it. It is loud, distorted and it sounds like the person talking is in a hollow room. In my case, I still use the wired headset.
    I plan on buying some Ear Force x31s once the big shooters start coming out this fall like Gears 3 and Battlefield 3. Some of my friends have Astro a40s, but I refuse to spend the same amount of money that it would cost to actually buy a brand new 360 console
    on an accessory.
