Is the xbox sX 4K dasboard automatic or can it be done manually ?

well on pc a 3080 which trounces xbox SX can run the game on max settings at true 4k and averages 80FPS so if they could give it a boost they would have to have the series x run the game at about medium to have full 60fps at 4k, the thing is getting EA to actually sort that.

Sorry, I failed to mention: I'm on SX and the TV is hdmi 2.1 capable.

If I enable VRR, I can no longer use the motion smoothening, anti-judder feature so I need to keep that off and ALLM from the Xbox settings as well.

I do have to lower resolution to 1440p to enable 120hz by using manual override instead of auto-detect. That's odd I think, as the TV should show the two refresh rates available but there's no refresh rate option at all just 4k uhd, 1080p and 720p. When I do the manual override thing, I don't see 4k uhd as a resolution option although the 60hz/120hz option below that pops up!

Why is that though?

I'm sorry you're going through this situation, I'll do everything I can to help you. Remember that this is a Microsoft community forum where we are players like you and in my case I am an independent advisor therefore I do not belong to Microsoft/Xbox.

To get to the point, I am going to leave you some steps to try to solve the problem you are presenting:

Unplug any USB devices.

Next, turn off your console completely and remove the power and network cables for at least 30 seconds. Plug the power cord back in and follow these steps:

Step 1: Press and hold the Eject and Pair buttons on your console.

The Eject button is on the front of the original Xbox One console, right next to the disc drive, while the Pair button is on the left side, directly adjacent to the disc drive, with a symbol that looks like ")) )" in it. . Note that on Xbox One X and Xbox One S, both buttons are on the front of the console, with the Bind button located directly below the Xbox button on the right edge.

Step 2: Release the Xbox button, but continue holding the Eject and Pair buttons for 10 to 15 seconds. Listen for two tones before releasing these buttons. The Xbox startup troubleshooter will appear shortly after.

Step 3: Select Reset this Xbox in settings and continue with factory reset.

If you are not on Dasboard 2.0.13604.0. You should try downloading the update manually, and putting the extracted contents onto the ROOT of a CD/USB device.
