    Is the xbox 360 cintroller compatible with the xbox one?


    So before I bought a Xbox One S I searched through forums and such to find if the xbox 360 controller is indeed compatible with xbox one,they said yes,but when I bought one and tried to connect my xbox 360 controller with my xbox one it didn't work...

    I was trying with a wired controller and it wasn't a version made by Microsoft.Maybe that is the problem?But I would like some confirmation.

    Just trying to understand. Normally when you buy a new xbox you get a controller as well. Why do you want to use a 360 controller.

    The Xbox One/ One S/ One X are not compatible with the Xbox 360 controller. In order to play your Xbox One S you're going to need to buy an Xbox One controller. Often they come with the Xbox but you can buy
    them separately, likely at the same retailer you bought your console from.
