Is the report feature connected to anything? Does anything happen to toxic players?

As you know, Halo MCC launched on PC a couple of months ago. Unfortunately, it seems a lot of people who played back in the day have not grown up so much and either:

- Use voice chat or written chat to spam racist/sexist/homophobic comments

- Quit early

- Go AFK

- Teamkill

I've been reporting the same players for over 6 months now, and they're still playing with the rest of us. They're still spamming chat with racist insults. They're still quitting every game. They're still going AFK. They're still teamkilling. You get the
idea.

You can immediately know, in the loading screen, that the game you're gonna be in is gonna be toxic. It's gotten so bad that you can easily recognize their names. And maybe half your team will just say "Oh yeah I've been reporting them too and they're still
playing."

There just seems to be no penalty for being toxic on Xbox Live, and the report function clearly does nothing.
So I guess my question is: should I just stop reporting and move on to other platforms? Most other platforms have a penalty for being toxic by either banning or pairing up the toxic players together. Xbox Live seems to be lacking said penalty.

No. Always report those people. The enforcement team do investigate every complaint they receive and will take the appropriate action. There is no way for you to know 100% when action is taken on another account. So even though you may see them in a game
a month later (for example) it doesn't mean they haven't been suspended sometime between when you first saw them and when you see them again. If they continue with the behavior and continue to be suspended, they will get a permanent ban (that's why it's important
to always report them). Reporting can also lower their rep and put them in "Avoid Me" status which makes it so they can only play with other gamers with that same status.

Unfortunately, that would still be an issue on any platform and there's nothing to stop them from just making new accounts, but reporting does help.

Anything single player where you avoid people altogether but for fps, I recommend preforming parties and just blocking or reporting any toxic players who message you.

So far i havent experienced any of these toxic players.

My advise will just to block and report them if they say anything that goes against the Code of Conduct.

The policies are pretty clear and with millions of users, you can guess it's not easy to micro-manage every case. You being toxic back to another toxic player won't solve anything, I get your frustration but sometimes you just report and move on.

I can't really do anything about that except that I strongly discurage it If the player is hurting you in anyway I would report him but lets stay on topic please
