Is the Dec 23rd shipping date for XB serise X a place holder?

I ordered a XB serise X from the Microsoft Store around 9pm on Nov. 9th. The confirmation email sent to me stated the expected date ill recive the console is Dec 23rd. However, my Debit card was charged immediately. I was working on the assumption that I
wouldn't be charged until it shipped. Thus, my reasoning was to at least secure the XBSX by December at worst case but then try and get it from Target or Walmart in the mean time. Well, sadly for me i had a XBSX ready to check out and pick up tomorrow from
Target but MS already took out my funds for XBSX thats not supposed to arrive until Christmas. Moreover, i had one more chance to get one day one from Walmart but i cant even go for that. My worst case scenario plan to secure the XBSX at a later date has become
my only option. I doubt that if i cancel the order with MS that my funds will immediately appear in my account. If i did do that the way my luck is going the funds wont be available for 3-5 days so not only will i miss out on my chance from a day one Wal Mart
purchase but ill lose my XBSX from MS even if it is Dec 23rd, thereby postponing my purchase till 2021 around February.

Someone please confirm if the Dec 23rd date is or isn't a place holder. I saved up and planned for this day since September 22 when i lost my chance then. I placed my bet on the MS store as and there was apparently some catch 22s. If i waited and took a
bigger gamble and waited for Target i wouldnt even be here right now, id be asleep picking up my XBSX from Target in the morning. However, because my account was charged immediately from the MS the rules of the game was apparently changed since i was working
off the assumption i wasnt supposed to be charged till next month.

Bad News my man, just got off a 90 minute call with MS and they said they will not be coming sooner, that Dec 23rd is the date they are going to be delivered. I asked if there was any chance of it coming sooner and they said and i quote "no we have to
wait until that date". We meaning MS for some reason but she wouldnt tell me why.

Damg that sucks.. i was just waiting to speak with them aswell. Glad someone was able to get through.

I ordered (2) from Microsoft last night on (2) separate transactions. Im in the same boat as far as estimated delivery date. I havent checked my bank account yet to see if the transactions have gone through but this is disheartening. If there is a backup
on preorders, it is ridiculous for them to put more out for purchase. Hopefully that 12/23/20 estimated delivery date is just a worst case scenerio, and if they took your money, then they started this shipping process.

Thats what i was hoping, the fact they fully charged me i was hoping that means its on its way. Eitherway, i dont want to sound ungrateful even if i have to wait till Dec 23rd. I'm just really excited to get the new console. Ive been a fan for over 15
years and given the way the world is right it its amazing Microsoft pushed through the challenges and brought this monster console to market. Gaming is a much need escape from the world. It was real nice to turn off the news with all the election drama, virus
and civil unrest and worry about something as trival as how i can get my console as soon as possible lol. It makes me feel like a kid again

A console thats going to make it more tolerable being stuck in doors while i try and avoid the virus lol. Thanks
Microsoft for the dedication, you guys have been amazing! Everything from gamepass, wonderful rewards, dropping 7.5 trillion to buy one of my favorite developers of all time, the best controller ever made and now an impressive piece of hardware thats easily
worth twice as much. You make escaping this dark world a real thing. I own over 400 games so im a xbot for life, whats six more weeks

amazon have stated in the news that some who pre ordered xbox series x may not get them until dec 23rd or later, so i bet everyone over sold the pre orders big time.
