Is the controller dimming option, night time mode and the 4k ui still only for alpha members?

Thank you for reaching out to the forum. I would not bet on it. I am currently running the Alpha UI an we still have the same color options.

Game mode has been on every time I've had the issue and I've turned off all extra features other than local dimming because "low", "standard" or "high" are the only options.

Why would i want it dimmed while im using it is the real question? If i had it on a menu or home screen for an extended time sure dimming it is a great idea. While im trying to watch a program, any program longer than an hour, im supposed to turn on the
controller and "move a stick on my controller" EVERY HOUR? Thats dumb! Netflix has a "are you still watching?" And the screen will dim, how bout xbox tail on with the idea? There is no never option.

That's extremely disappointing, @Frathos. I mentioned in the subreddit that I wonder if part of the reason for the problem is how demanding 4k/60p HDR capture must be on the system that is also trying to run said 4k/60p HDR game. This is especially the case
with how many new features have been added to the Xbox since release.

I wonder if a "recording only" mode is possible to where only the gameplay and recording take priority on system resources, and only core services like party chat/invites are turned on. Everything else like the microsoft store or streaming apps are turned
completely off in this mode.

What's so strange is that 4k/60p HDR recording had been working so flawlessly for months and months. I don't see how it has suddenly broken for most people.

Please join the subreddit and post any progress you see since you're an alpha member (are you skip-ahead alpha?), so at least if the problem does get fixed I can know an update is coming to poor-old-me in Delta tier in days instead of weeks or months.

You will need to be a member of the Xbox Insiders to do this.

Unfortunately Avatars is only for Alpha and Alpha step ahead members (which is by invitation only).

If you are still interested though, you can build up your score to go through the different levels by providing feedback on questionnaires and bug reporting.

The more points you get the higher rank you can achieve to get higher placing in the program.

Once you have hit BETA level, give valid and constructive bug reporting and you could be picked for the Alpha or Alpha skip ahead group.

This will take a little time, so dont expect to be in Alpha within a couple of months, most people have been in Insiders for maybe 6-18 months before being picked for Alpha groups.
