    Is The "Buy As Gift" Option Region Locked?


    Hi.

    I want to gift my sister in Canada (I live in the UK) using the Buy As Gift option in store. Someone on my friend list says it is region locked, that I can only use it to gift another person in the UK, but I have also heard it is region free.

    Could someone clarify this one way or the other please?

    Option to buy as a gift is still there. There's a separate option of "Buy as Gift" other than "Buy" that you use for gifting.

    Think it is the the same region so I would imagine so. Also surprised MS/XBOX would not convert the region.

    Gifting has always been region locked it is the first warning you received when purchasing the gift

    .

    Your only option is to find an etailer in her region and buying the game for her

    No as games are region locked

    You would need to buy from a retailer in his region as gifting is also region locked

    Hi there!

    Are you trying to buy the subscription as a gift for your son's account from your own account? If so, are both of the accounts set to the same region so that the Store reflects the correct information?

    Buying content from the Store as a gift is region locked and will only allow you to gift to other accounts in the same region.

    My suggestion is removing the payment options from your Microsoft account and re-adding them and then try buying the subscription as a gift again.

    Have you bee able to purchase content before with any of these payment options?

    You would have to buy here a gift card in euro's since the gift cards are region locked.
