So on December 7 Microsoft decided to get rid of the file explorer which means I can no longer play songs from a USB so after I did my research I found out there is an third party app called simple background music player an app that allows you to play
songs from your USB stick, I installed the app but since it is a third-party app and and I wasn’t completely sure of it I decided to uninstall it because I was a little paranoid and since it says that I own the app despite uninstalling it makes me pretty nervous

    Hey there, Valvechief N313

Unless things have changed, I haven't kept up with ID@Xbox newsletters etc... for quite some time, but all apps have to go though screening before they are published. That may have changed, but I know for Windows store this is still the case.

Because you have purchased the app/downloaded the app, it will say you own it. Regardless to whether you have uninstalled it or not. This is by design, and the app will still be in your 'Ready to install' section of My Games and Apps.

There are a lot of third party apps and games that are safe. If you do find one that is not safe, however, you can report it and Microsoft will review the app/game and decide what they shall do with it.

    Hope this helps,

    Regards,

Thank you for letting me know this information but can The creators of the app reinstall it without my permission or install it on their own?

No, the creators of the app cannot install it without your permission or install it on their own.

Yes the app is safe. It wouldn't be allowed on the Microsoft store if it wasn't. If however you still don't want it on the console, you could use the Media Player app for Xbox One, which is developed by Microsoft.
