    So with Microsoft taking the FileExplorer app off of the Xbox store I now need a new way to play music from my USB stick, when I was finished with my research I found the app simple background music player from the Xbox store however I am a little nervous
    to download it seeing as how it is a third-party app, I did research the app end it seems very legit as the app did come out a couple of days after Microsoft released the ability to listen to music while playing games however all I need is full assurance that
    the app is safe before I download it

    i think i have this app on my xbox and it doesnt give me any issues. only thing is that there is a 200 song limit and you have to set up your usb according to their instructions. its really simple and safe.

    It is entirely your option if you wish to download an app. this is Microsoft and I'm sure they do look into the applications before they release them. I recommend looking at the reviews then make your decision

    If you want to try another alternative...there is the VLC by VideoLAN app in the Microsoft Store that you can install on your Xbox One.

    I would try Spotify, its free and you can listen to anything also make playlists but every 30 minutes you get a 60 seconds voice ad, you can pay for a subscription to remove the ad aswell. You can use the same account on your phone, laptop and xbox so
    all your music options will carry over.
