NTSC-U/C implies domestic US & Canadian systems, NTSC-J implies domestic Japanese, Asian or Korean systems and PAL implies domestic European or Australian systems.

Unfortunatly not. Your US consol will only play NTSC-U/C and region free games. NTSC-J was only sold in the asian regions.

There is a lot of amazing NTSC-J titles though. Personally i picked up an Japanese Xbox 360 one of the first time i was in Tokyo.

Where did you buy your console? Another way is to try to play a game with NTSC-U region and if it works that is your region.

davemcfly85 is correct. The region code varies such as NTSC-U/C, NTSC-J , and PAL. Some work across region, some don't. I also advise contacting the seller and request a refund.
