Is my Elite 2 Controller completely dead?

When it comes in i would first check that everything that should be included with the controller comes in:

• Xbox Elite Wireless Controller
• Carrying case
• Set of 4 paddles
• Set of 6 thumbsticks: standard (2), tall (2), and domed (2)
• Set of 2 D-pads: faceted and standard
• USB cable
• AA batteries

has some really good images for you to at least visually compare to see if it is the real deal.

I know that on my controller it feels heavier than a regular controller and a dead give-away is that when it is paired with the Xbox your console will recognize it as an elite controller and let you customize the button mapping (including the fancy paddle
buttons on the elite) when you open the Xbox Accessories app.

The only trouble I’ve ever had from xbox controllers is a wandering thumbstick and that was after a few years of play. I have a regular run-of-the-mill controller now for almost 2 years and no issues. I play at least 2-3 hours a day, every day.

However, my brother has an elite and it is complete garbage. Hoping they address all of the flaws in the Elite 2.

Faulty controller now. The only workout around is some games let you change the dead zone. Unless its an elite controller. Serise 2 has a 1 year warranty, or if its a serise 1 or all together out of warranty you can set your own dead zones.

Fortunately the paddles from my spare Elite 1 fit and work perfectly.

I just tried this and they do not work on the Elite 2... My Elite 1 paddles fit, but they do not activate the button in-game. Testing with Red Dead Redemption 2. Another person also commented and confirmed that they do not work with the Elite 2.

Having the hair triggers set to the 3rd level on the new Series 2 Elite controller already makes it as responsive as can be so adjusting the dead zones doesn't apply as they're already maxed out.
