is my controller done for good??

A couple days ago I powered on my Xbox one and was notified that the controller I was using needed a firmware update so I sat it down and let it do its thing and now the controller won’t power on at all whether it’s plugged in using the USB-C cable or whether I have the batteries in and also when it’s plugged in it I can hear a ringing type noise coming from the controller and also the bottom of the controller where the dpad is gets sorta warm when plugged in and I’m kind of scared because this has never happened before and no matter how descriptive I am when searching for a solution I can’t find anything can anyone help me

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your Xbox One controller after trying to update the firmware.

If you are using a USB-C cable to connect the controller, try using another cable to rule out the possibility of the cable being damaged. Make sure the cable you are using is compatible with the Xbox One controller.

Also if you are using batteries in the controller, remove them and leave them outside for a few minutes. Then, put the batteries back in and check to see if the controller turns on.

On the back of the controller, near the charging port, there is a small reset hole. Use a paper clip or similar object to press the reset button for a few seconds. Then try turning on the controller again.

If the controller does not turn on, you may need to try a manual firmware update. Visit the official Xbox website and look for the controller support page. There, you can download the latest firmware for your controller and try to update it manually by following the instructions provided.

If after trying these suggestions your controller still won't turn on or shows signs of damage, you may need to consider replacing it.

If the steps above do not fix it, I would say you would need to take it to a repair shop. The alcohol probably damaged the inside of the controller. I'm sorry about that.

My controller keeps disconnecting a lot. Console is brand new, even got another controller and same thing. I have done the in game network diagnostics and it says my internet connection is good. Is my console a lemon ?

MW3 IS a brainless shooter, but one done well. Bodycount and Brink were horrible games. At least MW3 has good controls, decent maps, decent AI, but mainly GOOD CONTROLS
