Is my console using a development OS?

I'm hoping the alignment of OS - such that PC/Console/Mobile all use Windows 10 (under the hood) means we'll finally have the ability to play the same games across platforms (earning the same achievement points) - and in some games, being able to play Xbox
Live between PC and X1.

Unlike Randver - I think it's a risk for MS to NOT move to a unified OS, their current OS for X1 is poor. Also in terms of developers - the bigger change comes from developing for DX12 and that step I think is necessary because I believe it'll make a big
difference - but devs can still use old deprecated libraries of DX11 hence it's hardly making their lives difficult.

This is not correct. Using the Insider Hub to remove a console from a preview will start a process to install the General Availability (GA) OS for the Xbox console.

I hate Windows (and Microsoft in general)! Windows 8 is terrible as a mobile OS and not much of an improvement over W7 for a computer OS.

If so many developers weren't in bed with Windows I swear I would never use it at all! Although W7 is the best Microsoft OS in a long time (maybe ever), I would still much rather use Linux any time. It's faster, safer, more efficient and much more user friendly.
If only program developers would start seeing this, the whole computer world would be a much better place.

As far as W8 for a mobile OS....it's not fully touch friendly. You still will need a keyboard for much of it. IMO, that makes it not a mobile OS at all!

It should be an option in the in-game menus, not really the console itself since nowhere on the OS interface does the controller rumble... It's up the developers of games if they want players to be able to turn the vibration off.
