Is Kinect mandatory

No, because I don't have it and don't have any intention of getting it (I am on the titan falls band wagon and can't justify buying BF4 when I haven't liked the others I have played)

I know there were plans for the kinect in Forza 5, but they wouldn't tell me what they were are Eurogamer, and again I can't afford it.

Don't expect much at the moment it will likely be a few small voice commands, but give it 12 months and they should be some really cool features after the developers have had their hands on it for a bit, remember itsnew to programmers as well.

Have you ever watch "Click" on the iplayer, there is a lot of people using the Kinect for all sorts of stuff, some of it really really useful, some out it pointless but dam funny.

 

Battlefield 4 uses voice commands and head tracking with connect so you can ask for ammo or call out for a medic and the head tracking in vehicles is done really well. Instead of using the stick to look around, you can just use your head. Also good for leaning
around corners. It actually feels quite natural. Forza 5 has head tracking as well. As you come to a corner you can actually look into the corner by leaning. It's done well bell but takes a bit of getting used to. You really should give it a try. I too never
thought I would use it but I'm really glad it's there because it's been one of the highlights of the console. And it will only get better!

I plan to buy an Xbox one at the end of this month, I won't be using kinect to its full potential but i will defo be using it

 

Kinect 2.0 is amazing! I was skeptical and an owner of the ps4 puzzled when my hand was forced to cash another $100 for something I thought I would never use! It's actually NOT mandatory as far as functionality, but if you give it a shot, voice commands
(when asking to snap Live TV, changing the channels, etc,) makes the kinect so much cooler! If you're the type who still thinks it's weird that a camera might be watching you, simply cover it or point it the other way! Don't knock it till you try it, but
