Is it possible to show what you're playing using the XBox App on PC?

I was wondering if anyone can use the XBox App to show what you are playing or doing like say using Spotify or playing a XBox Game or using a browser. My girlfriend can show it because she has it set on her XBox. I don't know if you can do it on your PC
though.

You might be able to change these settings using the Xbox Settings online
https://account.xbox.com/en-us/Settings/Home The Xbox Console Companion app on PC does show your activity status, whether you are playing/watching/listening.

The Xbox app which is a different app, it should also show your activity.

Latency tests depend on what server you're using for the ping test.

For example, your Xbox could be testing latency to an Xbox datacenter further away (more than twice as far away it seems) than the server your PC's Xbox app or the website you're using for a latency test uses.

There is no problem and this is normal behavior for latency tests.

I would suggest you go to
Speedtest.net on your Edge browser (if possible) on Xbox one and also on a browser on your PC and see if the same server shows the same ping.

Yeah, from what I know you don't appear online while you're just using the PC. However if you start playing a game (i'm only sure about Games for Windows, not apps) then you will be shown as playing that game to your friends on Live. I remember my mate used
to play Supreme Commander on PC and I'd always see him from my 360 as playing it

So in answer to your question, on windows 8 you'll only be seen on Live if you're playing a game. It is possible that you might appear online when using the Xbox app on Win8, however I've never noticed that before... but it could just be something I've missed.

And lastly, I don't know of any other way to appear online unfortuantely. Lots of ways to see other people online, but not show yourself as online

Unfortunately it is not possible. The Windows 10 Xbox App will mirror what is on the TV, so if you're playing a game and streaming it to the PC that is also what will be shown on the TV.
