Is it possible to remove a child account from xbox family settings?

Bought my son Xbox Series S for Christmas added him to family settings on mine, worst mistake i ever made now he cant add any friends it seems even though i have lifted all restrictions - So i thought i would just remove him from the family settings , but it says he cant use his account if i do this until he is put on another family account? Mean why would i even bother at this point it be easier to reset the xbox lose the games i bought him and start over with a new account without the family setting thing?

Let’s then try again after a couple of hours, Gav. Make sure that you’re signed in under the organizer account in making changes and you can also use Xbox Family Safety App that we can use later on.

i logged into my account on your first link it shows me and my son in two boxes i click on his profile to remove him it says i'm not the person that added him - the only option it shows on my profile is to remove myself from the family group is that what u mean (as i am logged in on my account) Wont he lose his consent to access stuff if remove myself from the family group?

Hi! i went to that first link and tried to remove him to re-add him but it says the following :

You can't remove ***** from the family group

Family members under statutory age need an adult's consent to join a family group. Only the adult that granted consent for Dylan can remove this family member. Ask the family organiser who granted Dylan consent to remove Dylan from the family group.

the daft thing about that is im the person it my email i have to sign in i put him on it

You'll need to use the adult account in managing or removing him. Make sure that you're signed in under the organizer/adult account.
