    Is it possible to recover a dead relatives Xbox account?


    I pose such a question due to losing my brother quite some time ago, we used to play COD together back on the 360, I was wandering if I would be able to recover his account or something so I could keep it safe from harm. Just took me a long time to ask.

    That being said, did you remember the last time the account was used? This question is asked because Microsoft has a policy that states that after 2 continuous years of inactivity, the Microsoft account is deleted automatically.

    So, if this relative's account wasn't used in more than 2 years, it's likely deleted now. But, if that's not the case and if you didn't try. You can attempt to recover the account by submitting the account recovery form, which can be accessed here:

    Note: If the owner enabled 2-step verification in the past, please be aware that the recovery form will not work.

    Don't want to see this account go.

    A friend of mine has been dead for quite a long time is still alive, at least on Xbox live, and many people have talked about harassing their dead friends and relatives in Forza gave him closure. I don’t see his account going away
