Is it possible to have separate HDMI for audio & picture

Hi,

I have been connecting my Xbox one S to my TV via a direct HDMI for picture & an optical TOS link cable to my Denon ARV for surround sound which has been working fine for me.

I am looking at adding a couple extra speakers to my home cinema set up which will provide me with either Dolby Atmos or DTS X, the challenge that I have is that digital optical connections cannot support these audio formats so I will have to use HDMI however,
if I use a single HDMI for picture & audio this will use the same HDMI input on my TV as my other inputs such as Sky Q or my CCTV system etc & utilise the same picture settings on the TV as configured for these devices. At present I have been able to have
the picture from the Xbox go into a dedicated HDMI port on the TV which has allowed me to set custom picture settings & utilise game mode for reduced input lag etc. But if I only have the one HDMI for picture & audio I wouldn't be able to do this

Anyone have an experience or ideas how to get the full audio but maintain a dedicated picture input

Thanks for coming to the forums with your question on setting up speakers. Here is a guide for setting up

Xbox to your home theatre. With the set up most HDMI go through your receiver than one goes from there to the TV. Sound bar usually connects separate.

Thanks for updating me on what you trying to do. In that situation there isn't a sure way of doing this. There may be a splitter or something like that you may be able to use. But we do not recommend these types of items. The more breaks you have in a connection
the worse it can be.

Thanks Brad, this is the same scenario that is leaving me with the HDMI from the AV receiver going to the same input on the TV as all other inputs from the AV receiver. I want a way to prevent this which will allow me to create dedicated picture settings
for the Xbox only.

I assume that you have just a single HDMI from your amp to the TV? I can set that up too but I want to have dedicated picture settings for when I'm playing Xbox that are different to when I'm watching Sky etc.

Is there a way you know that can accommodate that?
