    Is it possible to get permission to make a product using the name and image of master chief?


    I may not be in the right place to ask this, but I'm currently trying to start selling STL files or 3D prints of products related to game characters. I wanted to start by making one using the master chiefs helmet as a small shoe ornament. The product would go on a shoe and would show the chiefs helmet. would this violate Microsoft's copyright or trade marks? If so is it possible to get permission to use the name "Halo" or "Master Chief"? (I have attached to images of what said product would look like.)

    you may not use any copyrighted image, characters, etc. on anything without the permission of the copyright holder. an easy rule of thumb is unless you have a piece of paper directly from the copyright holder authorizing you to do so, you may not.

    This is a consumer tech-support forum. I suggest you contact your attorney about inquiring about a license for you, as they would need to be involved no matter what

    I understand that the Master Chief & Cortana are responsible for introducing the amazing world of the Halo universe to us, but I will say it again.

    " The Master Chief is not the only Spartan out there "

    They are awesome (Master Chief & Cortana), but the ability for us (the players) to make our own Spartan and see them go through the Campaign Mode is WAY MORE IMMERSIVE than being forced to play as a pre-set Spartan.

    @Maxen13 you might be right, because Microsoft is giving a free month of gold to those of us who bought master chief collection on launch day. Its possible that there special offer is making redemption of my card a little loopy..lol. thanks for the info!
