Please check if your account email address has been replaced. If it was replaced, you cannot use your own email address to recover your account. You must know the current email address of your account which could be the hacker’s email address already to begin the account recovery.

If you knew the current email, you may try to reset the account password through https://account.live.com/pw
***Make sure to sign out any account signed in to https://account.microsoft.com website before starting an account recovery.

If it doesn’t work, try to fill out the account recovery form on https://account.live.com/acsr

How would I have purchased a game on someone else's account if they weren't signed in when I bought it though? I have purchased probably over 10 games in the past 2 years and couldn't possibly have accidentally bought it on someone else's account when
I used my account's pre-saved credit card to buy it.

I haven't modded my xbox or even taken the faceplate off, but I REALLY don't want to send it in for a month and risk getting someone else's xbox back. My xbox has the family pack XBL gold leader on it, and it would be REALLY bad if someone else got my xbox,
and then recovered the 3 other accounts, too.

If this thing breaks, I'm pretty sure I'm done with xbox.

Basically, I was told by an agent to make a forum post because they will keep me updated here. My issue is that 2 years ago after I changed my gamertag, that gamertag was immediately taken by someone and never used on a silver account. I was wondering if
microsoft can release the gamertag to me.
