Is it possible to connect an SSD drive through an adapter?

A rather unpleasant problem appeared that I cannot solve. I have an SSD drive MSI SPATIUM M390 3D NAND TLC 500GB M.2, which is connected through the pocket Maiwo M.2 SSD NVME PCIe SSD Enclosure. The SSD is recognized and works great when connected to the laptop. But, when connecting the ssd to the xbox, the indicator of the adapter operation lights up for just a couple of seconds and then goes silent, the console does not see the SSD drive. I tried to format it in another partition, but it didn't work. I tried it on Xbox X and Xbox One.

Reading the thread again, it's not a self repair or a modification. The drive is an NVME SSD inside a USB NVME drive enclosure. Similar to putting an SATA SSD in an enclosure like I did with a spare Crucial MX500 drive.

My advice would be to try a different enclosure. But the drive here is way OTT for the Xbox. It's read speeds are around 3,000MB/s but the USB 3.1 ports on Xbox console max out at 500MB/s. Should have purchased a cheaper SATA SSD and an enclosure or SATA to USB 3.1 adaptor.

i would connect both the drives to your console and transfer from one drive to another, both being SSD's it wont take long at all. It doesnt take long to move from my external drive to the internal on my console and neither of those are ssd, so yours should
fly through

Have you tried changing the adapter that makes the usb connection to the console and ssd? or tried to connect this ssd to another friend's xbox. ? This problem is very strange because one thing has nothing to do with the other.
