    Is it possible to change which Minecraft account is associated with your Microsoft account?


    At some point prior to the announcement of migrating Mojang accounts to Microsoft accounts, I created a Minecraft account (which I'll refer to as Account B) using this account. I think I just needed a test dummy for some server stuff. Either way, come the migration period, I was dealing with some family-related issues and completely missed the migration period, only to then realise I already had Account B associated with this one anyway. I hadn't intended to use that Account B as anything other than a test dummy, and now I can't migrate my main account (Account A), meaning all my data on worlds, servers, etc is linked to an account I can't access at the moment.

    I tried messaging Mojang support about this, but due to it involving a Microsoft account, they can't do anything about it. Is there any way to disconnect Account B from my Microsoft account, and connect Account A instead?

    Okay, I was unclear when I said "cannot access the account". I meant that because it's not migrated, I can't log in with it. I still have the correct login information. It just won't log me in because it's not a Microsoft account.

    The article you linked also mentions contacting Minecraft support if you think your account was migrated by someone else. Assuming the process is truly irreversible, what point would contacting Minecraft support even serve?

    I can't. That process was done for me, automatically, on the migration date, because of a pre-existing account that I created some time in 2019 or 2020 maybe early 2021 at the latest. Long before I could have known that a migration was forthcoming.

    When I try to migrate Account A, it tells me I can't because there's already an account associated with this Microsoft account, which is Account B, and I created Account B long before I could've known it would cause this problem in the future. I had no reason to believe there would even be a problem.

    Sorry to say but that's not possible, once you migrate your account this process can be reversed

    As you're not able to access the account right now you can start the recovery process if you forgot the password or account email following the steps here:

    Well, in that case you may need to use or create a completely different account if you can migrate account A.

    You can try deleting Microsoft account B, but can take up to 60 days to be completely deleted
