Is it possible to buy a game for another gamer on your friends list over Xbox live?

I would like to buy a digital download copy of Destiny 2 for another gamer on my friends list who cannot afford it. Is this possible to remotely do this type of transaction through Xbox live knowing just their gamertag? We used to transmit point card codes
but I'm not sure if that is a thing anymore.

The location of your games doesn't matter, as they're not shared from your Xbox.

When you buy a game digitally from Xbox Live, it's added to a list on your account. When you share with another console, it simply checks that list and lets the other person download the same games.

If you don't own any digital games, you can't share anything - it's not possible to share games that you own on a disc (other than giving your friend the disc)

Not over Live. You could buy a code for the game or a gift card and send them the code.

not over Xbox live but you can buy Xbox currency for them you can get them from Amazon and the code will be sent to your email or you can get from a store they changed the name from Microsoft points to Xbox live currency/Xbox gift card

Your gamer tag and your friends list along with all your achievements will carry over to your live account on xbox one. If you have a current xbox live account you will still be able to play xbox live on both xbox consoles.

My country, Switzerland, is on the list, but it isn't possible to get de Live Gold for the xbox one. When can I buy it in Switzerland? Or is there another possibility?
