    Is it possible now to use Dev Mode Activation while on an Insider update?


    I remember years ago it used to only be possible to be in one or the other. Using dev mode activation would factory reset your Xbox out of the Insider program. I remember it did say something along the lines of dev mode and Xbox insiders would eventually be merged together. So is that finally the case now? Or can you still only be in one or the other?

    There is such a function in Dev mode.

    It is possible to use a virtual machine in Dev Mode.

    Which console are you trying to activate dev mode on? Are you using a console from Xbox One family or the Xbox Series X|S?

    If you're using an Xbox One, you have to perform this through the "Dev Mode Activation" app
    If you're using an Xbox Series X|S, you have to perform this through the "Xbox Dev Mode" app

    Dev Mode Activation.

    There's a subscription and an 'app' you have to purchase/download off of the Microsoft Store and online in order to activate the developer console on an Xbox One. You can no longer just 'access' the dev console without purchasing the subscriptions and app.
