Is it okay to play multiplayer in Minecraft with just one account?

I am using a translation app because English is not my native language.

Therefore, the English expressions I use may be incorrect.

Currently, I have purchased Minecraft: Bedrock Edition&iOS Edition and have been playing it on both my WindowsPC and iPad.

I am playing multiplayer alone on my home LAN to test the functionality of commands.

However, when I sign in with the same account, it displays above the characters' heads, with one of them labeled as "(2)".

Even though I signed in with the same Microsoft account, when I visited the Minecraft official website and read the "How To Play Minecraft: Bedrock Edition Multiplayer" page at https://help.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/articles/4410316619533, it stated that everyone joining the game must have their own separate Microsoft accounts.

Does this mean that even when playing alone, I need to create two Microsoft accounts? Is a separate Microsoft account required for each device?

Managing multiple accounts can be difficult, so ideally, I would like to play with just one account.

Additionally, if I want to play multiplayer in Java Edition, do I still need two Microsoft accounts?

The "How To Play Minecraft: Java Edition Multiplayer" page did not mention anything about needing separate Microsoft accounts for everyone joining the game.

I have read the Software License

iv. publish, copy, rent, lease, sell, export, import, distribute, or lend the software or the Services, unless Microsoft expressly authorizes you to do so

v. transfer the software, any software licenses, or any rights to access or use the Services.

I got it.Even when playing alone, that having the same account on both PC and iPad creates a situation where there are two instances of the account, which can be interpreted as transferring the license.

Therefore, it is not allowed to do so. Thank you for your uncomplicated explanation.

Yes, this applies to any game or service that requires a Microsoft account.

Specifically it is mentioned that the licenses are for personal use only and you are not allowed to share your account with other people.

Minecraft Java has been migrated to Microsoft infrastructure and now users need a Microsoft account, this account should not be used on multiple devices at the same time, you can only use it on one at a time, so you would have to use another account that has access to the game license on another device to play at the same time.

It one more time didn't work but i just realized one thing Minecraft Launcher couldn't play multiplayer, but Lunar Client can play multiplayer. Are the two launchers related to each other?
