IS IT ME?????? INSTALLS ARE KILLING MY PATIENCE!!!!!

Bought Thief today, got home stuck the disk in (about 18:45-ish) sat here at 21:33 and its still only at 6%.

I've turned it off, turned it on, unplugged the net, turned it off, turned it on... anyone else getting the most outragous install times!!!! I buy games to play!!!

Same issues with AC4 and Dead rising, but this was launch day.. so I was like "oh ok, something to be fixed"

100% TAKING THE ***!!! anything speed up tricks or is it bye bye xbox one hello PS4 which I never thought I would say!!

Ive always said Sony's price point does not determine how much K2 is worth. They have put it in at no charge. As they never saw it as separate from the console.

Motor....you may be right. But, I think that depends on how the game devs take this news. The only way the kinect is going to reach it's full potential is if game devs know this is a clear part of MS vision AND that every user has it. If this change does
not change game devs viewpoint on kinect, you may indeed be right. I hope you are.

But Dude, that would assume that EVERYONE will also want and have that particular game that they are developing k2 integration for. And as I assume you know, there are a lot of games that you yourself DON'T have or have played that I have, and vice versa,
no? So with that in mind, there is no difference of me not having the dingleberry plugged and not having the particular game that a dev integrated for. I tried the k1, still have it, in a box. While voice command was great in ME3 and Skyrim and some other
things, I quickly realized, it was just a gimmick, I didn't need it, and I didn't use it. I don't sit around waving my arms while I'm trying to play a game. AND, for MY particular situation, my television is mounted above the fireplace, a full 15' from where
I sit. BUT, I will say, MY particular experience is that I do NOT use the 360 for Hulu+, VUDU, or Amazon Prime. I use my PS3. THEY haven't screwed up the interface to be all windows 8/ metro looking nonsense, AND PS3 does NOT require a paid membership to access
and use apps.

 

No it's not you. It is Microsoft! Got mine today too and spent over $1000 with 4 games. That was 10 hours ago and still I'm struggling to have even one game running.

This is plain simple stupid console. For God's sake we bought it for entertainment not for suffering. Tried each and every solution on support page and the entire net, none of the games is installing.

Hello, I only need to install the games from the discs not update them from the net! Why it is taking ages to reach 1%! If i disconnect network as it is instructed on support page, installation does not run at all.

You expect product loyalty after this Microsoft?! FORGET IT.

 

I purchased my XBox One on 2-2-14. On 2-17 I sat down and said "XBox On" and nothing....I repeated this for a bit and finally gave in and pushed the button. It came on and I got a message to plug in the kinect device. It was plugged in....and after an hour
I finally decided that the kinect device no longer worked. The retailer would not take just the kinect device back so I had to return the whole xbox. Guess what that means? It means I did the whole ridiculous install process TWICE in one month. A game should
be playable right out of the box, especially when they were released 2 days ago...like Thief. There is NO reason to have a 6 gig update on a game that was just released. I'm lucky and have a reasonably fast internet DL speed, but many people out there are
running on 1.5 Mb/S DL and less. It must take HOURS to play a game after they buy one...and it'd be DAYS if they had a situation like mine and had to re-install all of their games. My opinion is, if you pay 600 bucks for a game console and 60 bucks for games,
the time consuming part should be done already. The only thing that should take a long time are add-ons purchased digitally.

Sorry to hear you're struggles for the networking and game installation. Digital Downloads can take a while depending on many factors. Internet speed networking NAT. Network is located in your Xbox One Settings, check to see that it is lower then Strict,
which will help immensely. You can also do a Network Statistics which is on the right side under Troubleshoot.

If you have the latest Console Updates, you can try heading to your "My Games & Apps" which will show you how much Hard drive space you are using. Check to see if you have any pending downloads available which is shown on the far right hand. Each game you
buy as a physical will install onto your hard drive. If you are connected to live, it will also be updating you to the latest patch while its installing, which can take while.

Some work around is to disconnect from live and wait till its fully installed, then re-connect to Live and get the patch update.

I dont have fibre optic, but still... even when there is no update. It takes ages to install.

Its not just crazy, its stupid!!! I've had xbox original, 360, 360 slim and now the ONE, but this feels like the game / gamers have come in second the the all new entertainment box..

I am a geek and proud of it, when i buy a game its because I really, really want to rock it... I dont want to get home, put the disk in and wait hours and hours.. It just means all my excitment has died and by the time I get to play it.

It really feels like the death of the xbox here and the death off games consols being deigned for gamers. It makes me sad all day long.
