    Is Internet Explorer Blocking Google Play's streaming capabilities?


    I used to be able to stream music from my Google Play account through the Internet Explorer app. Then the Xbox One updated the app and now it doesnt allow it. I am able to listen to samples of music under the shop for music tab, but playing my own library
    tells me I need flash installed even though my Google Play setting are set for HTML5 playback. It is small issues like this that irritate me having a so called "Next gen" console. Any help or feedback is greatly appreciated.

    Which webbrouwser are you using? Windows Interner Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox etc.

    Method 1:

    Try to download another webbrouwser.

    If you're currently using Windows Internet Explorer you can try Google Chrome.

    If you're using Google Chrome you can try
    Windows Internet Explorer     or Mozille Firefox.

    Method 2:

    If you're using Windows Internet Explorer, try to reset the settings.

    1. Open IE - Press ALT + X - Internet Options - Advanced - Restore Advanced Settings - Apply - Ok - Restart IE.

    Method 3:

    Try to download the lastest Version from

    You may need to try a different browser. It should work with Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Firefox or Safari. You also may want to check and see if you're blocking pop-ups; if you are, disable that temporarily.

    Playing Google Music through Xbox One

    I played some Google Music by snapping Internet Explorer and browsing to music.google.com. The interface did not look great and I had a hard time zooming out to pause the song. Did not play with it for long and it does not look like a very good solution.
    I have 30K songs on my PC so I will be streaming with the Xbox Music App snapped.

    go to the Google Music website, go to settings, enable HTML5 Audio. but it'll only play music while Internet Explorer is open or snapped.
