Is hdmi cec still broken on Series X?

Ok, so fellow gamers and ambassadors, please help me out:

Hdmi cec is not working properly with my SX since day one.

On the original Xbox One and Xbox One X, it used to power up the TV and amp just fine and also power them down with the console turning off.

All the checks are selected in Power options, hdmi control/cec is enabled in my TV... So is hdmi cec just broken on SX or will I need a really new TV to get it to work?

Hopefully they'll have it fixed soon. I keep mine on and it works intermittently as well.

I'll just do without it, it's not a must have for me anyway.

Hello Speedster996, sorry to hear you're having trouble.

I'm afraid that the HDMI-CEC is still a little on the weird side as far as howit works. Xbox is aware of the issue and if you're in the Insiders program I do recommend using the reporting tool on the console to report it.

In the meantime their suggestion is to make sure the TV supports the feature and, if necessary, try doing a reset on the TV.

HDMI-CEC is supported only on Xbox One X, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X. You must also enable HDMI-CEC on your TV.

Xbox Series X|S consoles can use an HDMI feature called Consumer Electronics Control (CEC) to send commands to and from CEC-enabled devices (such as TVs and AVRs) that are connected to the console.

This feature can be turned on and off via the TV & A/V power options settings screen. Press the Xbox button  to open the guide, then go to Profile & system > Settings > General > Sleep mode & startup > TV & A/V power options.
