    Microsoft says it's compatible to the controllers with usb-c port. And yet gen 8 controllers have micro usb. But as I see, the batteries are exactly identical to each other.

    Hi again,

    The Kit is basically the battery and the cable. If you only have the battery then you just have to get a micro USB cable and connect it to the controller with the battery on.

    You can use the Xbox Series Play and Charge Kit on Xbox One controllers. The battery will fit since it's the same, but you'll need to use a micro USB cable to charge it.
