    Is "Finishing Things Up..." Broken?


    So game updates do this new thing called "Finishing Things Up..." And it literally takes more than double the time it took to download the update in the first place. Not even kidding. Took 5 minutes to download the update to Halo MMC and 20 minutes and counting to "Finish things up..."

    This is very frustrating.

    Thread title should be renamed to "Broken games due to publisher's unrealistic deadlines forcing the game to be released before it is finished", then people would understand a little more why this sort of thing keeps happening more and more.

    I think mine kicked in last night after I finished playing, I thought the thing had broken as the button on the console was pulsing and the Kinect was flashing and voice command inoperative, normal service was resumed this morning!

    Hi, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you with your concern.

    I have here steps that we can try, please perform a power cycle on your console by following the steps below:

    POWERCYCLE CONSOLE​​​

    ​​​

    "1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off. ​​​

    2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller. ​​"

    If that didn't work may I ask if you have an external hard drive plugged into your console? A corrupted hard drive may cause issues as well.
