Is FedEx Shipping Reliable?

I ordered a Turtle Beach Recon Chat White Headset from Microsoft Store using my hard earned Microsoft Reward points because I currently am using very sensitive earbuds. It was supposed to be delivered on Monday, February 22 between 8-11 PM, right now it is Wednesday morning and the package is pending on the track website. I was told it would process the pending state when it is ready to be delivered and that I would have to wait 24-48 hours to escalate the situation if no update is received. I understand that there are severe weather conditions across the route to my city. The question is, is FedEx reliable I saw reviews giving a bad representation towards the company and their package is always late. Should I request for it to be delivered by a different company? What should I do?

I mean like @Smwutches said... give it more time before trying to request a different delivery or a refund.

Ive never had an issue with Fedex. In fact, a package I ordered the other day came in a day ahead of the estimated date. Right now there is some severe weather across the country, slowing many routes down. 2 days though is quite a bit of time past so I suggest contacting Fedex again by email first then contacting them by phone if you dont receive an answer within a reasonable timeframe.

I generally don't like FedEx in my area because it's always slow, but unless there are other factors (like the weather), they're usually on time. With the recent weather issues, all delivery services are backed up and trying to get caught up. I'd give it some more time before trying to request a different delivery.

It has been already almost 2 days since the estimated date for the package to arrive. If I wait 2-3 days after today (Wednesday, February 24) should I request a refund? Microsoft Support said that they would escalate the situation in 24-48 hours from now if this doesn't get any update. If nothing happens should I refund the product and ask for it to be sent by a different company?
