Is downloading the Xbox update preview worth it

If anyone doesn't mind re downloading games and updates, try a factory reset in the settings. It helped me with the sound cutting out for a second at a time. I've left the preview update now. Too many bugs and downloads to be worth the hassle.

when you join the preview your console may not update immediately - in fact you can be waiting several weeks as you may not be sent a preview update until the next wave (update waves are normally every month).

If your console is enrolled (which you can check in the preview app) you are all set up and will get the update once it rolls out. Its worth pointing out there is no 'manual' method of downloading the preview and installing it ahead of 'schedule.'

being invited to the preview program is only the first step, being invited does not guarantee you will be selected to join. And also its worth bearing in mind that they do selections in batches/waves due to volume of people trying to join.

How will you know if you are selected?

You'll get a service message from the team on your Xbox One. The message will include a link to download the Xbox Preview Dashboard app. You'll need to use the app to register your console for Preview updates.

If you are not selected you do not receive any messages.
