Is controller drift considered to be a plausible reason to request a replacement controller

It sounds like the controller is having the left stick drift issue, so if it is a new controller you should ask to replace it and if the controller is no longer under warranty a repair should be considered.

I would like you to check in the settings menu of each game that you play and look for character drift. Turn that option off and check again.

I have drift on the right stick, but my gimbal is worn, the rubber is gone and it's high mileage indeed.

For each controller you owned, was it a different stick or direction of drift? Have you considered having the gimbal replaced on one of your old controllers?

Yeah it's still in the warranty. I will make an request on it. I'm just glad that it can be replaced because it the only controller that I used all the time. I had 2 of the original black xbox one controller and for some reason the bumper piece was loose
and I had bad drift so I had bought the elite controller.
