Is anyone else having issues disabling recurring billing?

Almost a month ago, I signed up for Microsoft's Game Pass while it was on sale. I typically turn off recurring billing for subscriptions as I usually don't use these kinds of services on a monthly basis.

However, I've since tried to turn off this feature and it keeps saying error. I've attempted to cancel, and even that doesn't work. What's going on? Is it because I paid for the Game Pass while it was on sale? Has anyone else run into this issue?

you can disable recurring billing without having to unsubscribe

I saw that turning off recurring billing might work. If you have a subscription and have recurring billing, please disable recurring billing, clear your console MAC and try again.

Clean your console's MAC

Network Settings> Advanced Settings> MAC Address and Clear.
