    Manually Type in IPv6 or revert to IPv4

    It doesnt let me change my DNS address under settings. Right now it is automatically putting in a IPV6 address and not using my fastest DNS address. I would like to put in my own IPv6 DNS address (that is recorded HALF the ping to the current dns its reverting
    me 2) but the set up on xbox one only allows me to type in IPv4.

    that would be fine and i would rather just put in my own IPv4 address if possible but it looks like the xbox prefers IPv6 because when i try to put in an IPv4 address it doesnt work and it reverts automatically to the IPv6 numbers that run like horse poop.
    Why would xbox prefer IPv6 and than not even let you manually type in an IPv6? and than if you can only type in a manual IPv4...why doesnt it let you type in an IPv4 if you have an IPv6....something is wrong here.

    My router doesnt seem to have any options for preferring IPv4 over IPv6 either! i really need help getting off this DNS it is automatically connecting me 2.

    Also ipv6 sounds like it could work too but i cringe at the idea of converting all my static addresses to ipv6..

    For anyone that reads this....

    On further investigation the router in my house may have lost its IPv6 address. Restarted router and appears to be fine so far with IPv6 enabled.

    You can see if you have a valid IPv6 address in task manager.

    you might have to configure your DHCP to hand out IPv6 addresses, or set your Xbox One with a static IPv6 address. If you have some questions about that, let us know.
    Please tell me the best way to do this. I have my IPv6 address, but how can I input that into the xbox one?

    How familiar are you with your router settings and configuration? I understand they might be capable of IPv6, but you might have to configure your DHCP to hand out IPv6 addresses, or set your Xbox One with a static IPv6 address. If you have some questions
    about that, let us know.

    then that is a Comcast thing, when IPv6 is fully rolled out, every device will have a IPv6 address, and those addresses are going to be handed out by the ISP because then we are back to square one if Comcast is only giving you one IPv6, because then you
    will still require a router to provide NAT for the rest of your network, and if that is the case then there is absolutely no reason to be concerned about having IPv6 on your X1.
