Invalid format on LG TV, then Xbox Series X goes to 640x480 resolution

This happens to me every single day I am using the lg g1. I have tried many ways to fix this issue. I refuse to drop my refresh rate down to 60hz to compensate for a massive company’s inability to fix the issue or even address it. Also not a single YouTuber has covered this issue. What is the problem? Is it the Xbox itself or simply a communication error between the Xbox and the tv itself. I don’t know but I’m sure I would if Microsoft could address it. I think it’s **** that I spent 2k on a tv and another 500 on a console but it just so happens that this console is actually worse than the Xbox one because at least that could allow me to stream a show for an hour without a problem occurring. No instead the only fix is to purchase a PS5 and hope Sony doesn’t have the same goddamn issue which if they did I’m sure it would be ignored like this one.

I've been having the exactl same issue for months series x and lg cx , yet have no issues with my ps5 on the same TV , someone needs to patch something somewhere I had no issues with my xbox one x either , I also get an invalid format screen a lot when using the xbox TV and movie app its all unacceptable and annoying.

Fyi invalid format usually means a resolution problem

If someone has been messing with the TV settings, then the first thing to do would be to unplug the Xbox, reset the TV settings to factory defaults and then plug the Xbox back in again.

As to the 640x480 resolution, I believe that is the default resolution when there's an issue. When I used my One X with my LG CX TV, sometimes I would turn it on and the resolution would be that and it usually required me to unplug the hDMI from either the TV or Xbox before plugging in again

Not sure about the audio issue. However, given the audio and video issues, it does sound like it's most likely an issue with either the HDMI port on either the TV or the Xbox or the HDMI cable itself

Of course, the simplest option to check whether it's TV or Xbox would be to plug it into another TV or even a computer monitor

If you switch your TV connection settings in the Xbox One settings from "Auto-detect" to HDMI or DVI it will display the only resolutions the Xbox One is capable of even if your TV doesn't support some of those resolutions. You can set it to 1080p, but
if your TV doesn't support it the screen will go black. If you set it to 1080p and your screen didn't go black then your TV accepts 1080p, but your TV might scale it to 720p.

Unfortunately, many TVs don't accept either 1080p or 720p, so without 1080i output the Xbox One is forced into standard definition 640x480, which by Microsoft's own admission is not recommended. 640x480 resolution on a system meant to display in HD looks
terrible and it makes the Xbox One look worse than the Xbox 360. Many of the Xbox One's main features do not even work in 640x480 like the big app tile goes to a black screen and when snapping apps the left screen goes black. Not to mention that any on-screen
text is illegible and the system is letterboxed even on a widescreen TV because 640x480 is a 4:3 resolution.

Microsoft could easily fix this by adding 1080i output in an update, but they have been ignoring this, even though it is one of the biggest requests on their new feedback site.
