Internet Explorer doesn't block any pop ups

In the preferences for IE I have "block unwanted pop ups" enabled. I watch tv shows on IE and 99% of the time when I click on a link a pop up is produced. I am constantly closing pop ups manually. Will this be fixed at all?

To allow pop-ups, follow these steps:

For Google Chrome: There should be an icon that has a red x in the address bar. Click it and choose "Always show pop-ups..."

For Internet Explorer: Go to Tools>Pop-up Blocker> Either turn off pop-up blocker or go into the pop-up blocker settings and enter the URL of the website that you wish to allow pop-ups on.

For Firefox: An information bar should show up saying that Firefox has prevented a pop-up. Click the options and choose allow pop-ups for this site.

Internet explorer POP-UPS

I know that this doesn't necessarily answer your pop-ups issue, but does that site take you to Flash-based video players?



The Internet Explorer app on the Xbox 360 does not support Flash. So, if they were flash-based, you wouldn't be able to watch the free television content provided by that website. For example, if that site takes you to Hulu.com, you would need to subscribe
and use the Hulu + app on the Xbox 360 to view their content.

Sorry to hear you're having issues with popups.

I haven't been able to see any popups showing when I use the IE app. What site are you using that has those getting through?

 

Project Free Tv, every single time I click on something, I get a pop up. Also stream-tv.me is the same way.

You console is not designed to stream from free TV sites. We would recommend viewing your shows using a different method like Xbox Video or checking those sites on a computer/laptop.

So the "Block pop ups" option is basically just for aesthetics? Microsoft couldn't possibly believe that every single person who bought a One was going to be watching on Netflix or Xbox Video could they? This feature, or should I say lack of one makes Internet
Explorer the most aggravating thing about the Xbox one, well.....maybe not the most aggravating, but I'll say it's in at least a 4 way tie for that award

 

It is aggravating, yet expected that IE would get the unconditional support from Microsoft. Even in my desktop, IE fails to provide a great pop up blocker. I am so thankful that Adblock Plus is working outstandingly when I use Mozilla. As far as Project
Free TV...nevermind...go elsewhere to watch...that is really lame. Dontcha ya know we like your console and want it to provide live gaming then the ease of hopping on our browse sites?
