    Hello community, I have Xbox One S and I'm experiencing slow internet connectivity on my xbox. All of the internet issue started right after my xbox got soft bricked while installing insider build. After waiting for a month, I was able to recover my xbox using public sept build offline system update. From that point, I've unroll from insider build and stayed on public build. After that I started experiencing slow download speed when installing system update or downloading any games using disk. Just to let you know that my xbox is connected to WiFi. My internet service provider is Xfinity, my service is 900Mbps down and 20Mbps up. The xbox is only getting 5 to 10 Mbps down and 20 Mbps up with 100 to 150 latency and 1% packet loss. To resolve the issue, I've done many steps like alternative MAC address, change DNS server to Google, cloudfare & OpenDNS, and alternate port change to highest port number available, and QoS Tagging enable. After this changes, it did improve the down speed by 2 to 5% and reduce the latency but no drastic change. Next up, I have factory reset the xbox, restart the Xfinity Gateway modem and even factory reset modem but no improvement at all. Finally, I manage to connect my xbox hardwire over ethernet, came to found it did likely 10% improvement and even I've swap out the WiFi module but it didn't help at all.

    * When my xbox was on insider build, the xbox was getting roughly 30 to 100 Mbps down. Now it's not even closer to match the speed.

    The max speed that my Xbox has gotten so far is roughly up to 15 Mbps down. I have wait for hours or even days to download a single game, cause xbox doesn't seems continue to download the game while it's in instant power-on standby mode.

    Would anyone would able to help me out here to solve this dam WiFi issue??? I have reached out to Xbox, read other forums, videos and articles but no luck.

    I really need desperate need HELP!!! If Xbox engineer is reading this post, please chime in to help out with insider knowledge.

    Hi there,

    to connect the Xbox One S console to the internet all you need is a internet connection, to which you can connect the console.

    For youtube there is not addition membership required, for Netflix a Netflix membership is required.

    There is no need for a Xbox Live Gold subscription to be able to use these apps and download demo's or purchased games etc.

    A membership like Xbox Live Gold is required when you want to play multiplayer games online or use party chat etc

    The only time where I've seen cutting out or stuttering on videos is due to a poor internet connection. Have you checked the internet connection with your Xbox One S to make sure it's picking the signal up good and not disconnecting, by chance?
