    Internet Connection Sharing no longer working.


    Hey guys, so I have an old xbox 360 console that doesn't have a wireless adapter and I've always used internet connection sharing from my PC to go online. I haven't played my xbox for a little while and now the internet connection sharing no longer works
    and my xbox has a 169.254.x.x IP. I double checked I had it all set up correctly on my PC and I have followed it exactly so there should be no issues, I have also tried setting a manual IP on the xbox but it still won't let me connect. I also tried this on
    a friends slim 360 and it didn't work either so this makes me think its an issue with my PC or router.

    Here is what comes up when i type "ipconfig" in CMD, just in case it helps identify the issue:

    Hi, are you using an actual bridge or Internet Connection Sharing? If you selected both network cards and right clicked and created a bridge that won't work in this set-up you will have to use Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) instead

    You can not connect your Xbox to your internet via Ethernet through your laptop. The port on your laptop is to be plugged into your router or cable modem if you what your laptop to have a wired connection. If you want your Xbox to be wired, then you need
    to run the Ethernet cable to the port on your router or cable modem.

    That's odd, you must have a different setup on your laptop then most have.. Sorry I don't know what else to say, good luck!
