Is he in a child account with restrictions to the internet?

No error code.it just says must be online. When i go to settings I get the its all good message when i check the connection

I turn off my Modem wait a minute turn it back on and when it is booted up, turn the Xbox back on and it works, happens a few times a year to me ,

As above, but also are you given an error code?

Did you test the internet connection via the option in the settings menu?
