So I wanted to buy a hard drive for my Xbox 360 E and I looked at best buy online and I looked for Xbox 360 E hard drives but I couldn't find any all I found was Xbox 360 S and then I saw this item that said it worked for Xbox 360 Xbox 360 E and Xbox 360
S then I read the description and all it talked about was Xbox 360 S so does internal hard drives for s work for e?

Internal Hard Drive

**Before I start that I know that this would void any guarantee, if I tried to the following. **

If I swapped the internal hard drive for a new one(lets say 5tb laptop hard drive), would the xbox boot up and just download any required files from a server, or would I have to clone copy the original the hard to the new one? Although that may cause a problem
with any security developed for the xbox.... Its not an issue now, but in time (within a couple of months) I may of already used up 370gb, which is a problem for a console I plan on having long term.

The XBox 360 S and E both use the same hard drive interface so you can buy a hard drive that works for an S for an E.

Is it possible that a malicious person bought the 1TB console, and swapped it with their own 500GB model, then returned the box to Best Buy for some made up reason.

Then the Best Buy employee just confirmed that there is "a" console in the box not "the" console that was originally in it, and returned it to the shelf.

Then you bought the 500GB console with the 1TB box?

Try to register the console on
https://devicesupport.microsoft.com and check if the description there mentions a 500GB hard drive or 1TB hard drive.

If you got a 500GB console in a 1TB box, return the console to Best Buy and explain it to them.

Sometimes over time machines will slow down. A reset to factory defaults may help that situation. As far a the hard drive going out just like anything they will eventually fail but that does not sound like what is happening here.
